Verra, the global standard-setter for carbon credits, has just extended a major deadline for tree-based carbon projects following Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) methodologies. Originally, Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) required that projects using the AR-ACM0003 and AR-AMS0007 methodologies finish validation by December 28, 2024. Now, projects already underway get a break—they’ll have until June 30, 2025, to complete this crucial step. 🗓️
